Winter 2015 preview -- heavier stuff

The Networks (Gil H)
You and your opponents are new television networks, and you need new programming. For this, you’ll need Shows, Stars, and Ads. Shows need Stars and Ads. Stars give you bonus viewers (points), and Ads give you extra money. You’ll need everything you can get; you’ll have a small amount of resources and time, and you must grab the latest hot show before your opponents.

Legendary Civilizations (John V)
El Dorado. Atlantis. Hy-Brasil. Shambhala. Many an explorer traveled beyond the boundaries of the known world in search of these mysterious civilizations, but they were never discovered. But what if they didn't want to be found? In this resource management board game, you play a legendary civilization using your magical powers to fend off European explorers, while simultaneously sending explorers to exploit your opponents' civilizations.

Shoot ‘Em Up Spaceships (Joe J)
Program your spaceships to blow up your enemies’ ships before they blow up yours.

Crusaders (Seth J)
A game of influence and scandal, featuring a novel rondel/mancala mechanism.

Quartermaster General expansion (Ian B)
Quartermaster General is a fast-paced card driven board game about WWII for between 2-6 players.

Trade Empires (Tau D)
Inter-galactic trading for 3-9 players; trade commodities to acquire the cubes you need to run your factories, invent new technologies, and generate victory points; each player has unique skills and advantages.

Collusion/Levers of Power (Jeff W)
Power and scheming in the medieval world. Your brain will hurt.

Venus Needs Men variant (John V)
In Venus Needs Men, you play an alien planet seeking to capture humans from Earth for your own nefarious purposes. This variant (based partly on feedback from previous Spielbanies) adds more strategic and tactical decision-making via a hand of action cards, and adds scoring based on destroying your enemies as well as collecting humans.

Sector X (Matt K)
A tile laying "Take that!" space race! In this game players maneuver their space ships through hard and hazardous space in a race around Sector X.
